m/k 101 trolling motor

Went out on the water thursday, and apparently my 3x steering went out on my trolling motor. I had to turn the whole trolling motor to use it, because the inner shaft wouldnt turn. Anybody ever had that problem or any experience with dat?

Same thing happened to me a week or so ago. Call your local repair shop and see if they can fix it, they hate working on those from what I hear. You can also get them to convert it to normal steering

already did. waiting now for the damages.

speckinabox 08-03-2010 08:28 AM

The problem with the 3X is that the teeth in the shaft that make it turn are plastic and they break easy. I know many people that have had this problem more than once.

speck-chaser 08-03-2010 09:58 PM

another problem is dirt dobbers building nests in the head around those gears.

Must mean we need to do a whole lot more fishing if the bugs have time to make homes in that there apparatus. I'm sure the wife will love that. :D:D
