Down In Dularge
Enjoying some pretty good 'catching' on the DU. The past 5 days have been exciting and very productive except for yesterday. Sunday we could not get on a decent bite as the west winds were too much and the water was dirty everywhere we fished. Thursday, Friday and Saturday we whacked the reds each day with over 70 fish caught before 9:30 AM each day. The Shannon Lemoine crew and the Walter Voorhies crew yesterday was not good with only a handful of fish caught. We made up for it today with Terry Plaisance, Jody Coleman, and Jose Patterson from Lafayette. The rare August north wind made it easy as we found the trout stacked up feeding like pirahna's under the birds. Jumbo white shrimp were skipping all around the boat as the hungry trout were popping them on the water. Double rigged LSU chubs helped to fill the box with 75 beautiful healthy looking trout. We could have caught another 25 to make 100 but we left them biting to look for a few reds. The guys added 11 reds to the box and we called it a day as it was getting hot. The trout averaged 14-18in and we only caught a few throw-backs during the entire morning. Pictures will be posted when I get home. Good luck fishing. Capt Bill Lake 985-851-6015 985-637-3712 |
