Truck A/C

Anybody ever had a chevy a/c blow cold from the passenger side but hot from the drivers side, or know what the problem is?

Raymond 08-27-2010 03:55 PM

Oh hell yeah, it happens at the most inappropriate time too.
It is the switch that controls the DUAL CLIMATE control!!:pissed:
If you fiind a cheap solution, PM me.

If you guys know that that's for sure the problem, send me some years and model numbers. I can get them from the dealer almost 20% cheaper than the walk in customer. I'd be glad to sell a couple at cost plus shipping. By doing this, it increases my purchasing power.

Raymond 08-27-2010 04:23 PM

Corey, how much is it after the 20% off??????????????????

Ray 08-27-2010 06:04 PM

My cousins new chevy does that. It won't do it at the dealer. He pulls over and shuts the engine down and restarts it. Reboot!! It is a diesel.

Happened to my Dodge last week.....its in the shop now....quote was 1500 bucks!!! Ouch!

BossHog 08-27-2010 06:55 PM

Mine used to do it about 3 years ago then quite until the other day, the a/c also changes to different vents everytime I stop and go. Some days it works fine but other days it doesnt and its always freezing cold on the passengerside but hot on the drivers

Dink 08-27-2010 08:24 PM

What year truck!?? Almost sounds like a vacuum leak

Raymond 08-27-2010 08:56 PM

2004 chev 5.3 piece of $hit, hope it catches of fire without the dogs in it!

Dink 08-27-2010 09:16 PM

If it blows out of different vents when you get on the gas hard, its vacuum.......

Dink 08-27-2010 09:19 PM

Bring it with the boat! Bet I can save you some $$$$! I have three mechanics inhouse! While they're working on your truck, take mine and run around gonzales! Go to cabelas and spend the rest of what you were gonna spend over there! Lol

Not many vacuums on newer vehicles.

Ray, that is what it is, I found out it is a reboot. Sometimes for whatever reason when you kill your vehicle it goes to a reboot and it defaults to the heater. So next time you start it the heater is on, have to kill it and restart.

Raymond, my wifes 2004 suburban does the samething, and now I am having trouble keeping it running! :(

Why can't car manufacturers just follow the KISS rule (keep it simple stupid). After years of production your product is suppose to be better, right. I think it's more a case of ' planned obselescense'. They want us to come to the dealer and pay $100/hr. for repairs. And they wonder why the Jap trucks have taken so much of their market share. Makes me furious...

Dink 08-28-2010 10:02 AM

New Acadia has front and rear AC with quad climate control!! Can't wait for this one to break!!!
