Beach 9-3-10
Made an attempt to fish the rocks today at Johnson Bayou. Tide was 2' high, with a ripping current and muddy as hell. Waves were crashing over the rocks and did not make for an easy trip. Went all the way down to Lil Florida and same results, then tried to wade fish the ship channel but water was horrible there also. So much for a nice north wind. Will try fishing north tmw.
Left the beach around 930, water seemed to get a little calmer but still very muddy. Let me know if anyone has any good reports down south?? |
i plan on fishing monday morning hopefully it'll be right then

That's what I heard. Think I might try in the morning. That wind didn't switch out the north till late morning.

better luck in the morning, water was so high and muddy which made it hard for a short guy to fish. even tried a kayak but waves kept coming over the front. will take the big boat out tmw. Looks like the wind will be stronger out of north in morning.

all the guides we talked to said that the water south from the jetties on down was terrible. we scratched out 40 trout and a flounder fishing the lake. That tide is gonna be ripping later, but the winds are supposed to pick up again tomorrow and switch directions.

It was not a good morning but Iam glad Gottogo was my wingman for the trip down. Water was not muddy, just stained pretty bad. Green was 200-300 yds off rocks and moving slowly north. Breakers were substantial after sun up and coming out of the southeast:(. Will try again in the morning if Cacahoes does not tear me up too bad tonight.:D
