Do the snapper tend to go deeper or are they closer in during the fall?

Well, we were targeting Ling on Sunday and never went passed 65' of water in the Vermillion Blocks. The snapper were thick, hungry, and were not on the bottom!

I've fished east bay in Venice in 75-100 ft of water in the dead of winter it's still loaded w snapper then
