Vermillion Bay 10-15-10
 

Went to the Boston Canal from Don's landing. I should have known it wasn't gonna be a good day after the lady told me it was $5.00 to launch. Anyway it was slow for us. Turd hustlers, croakers etc. Then we caught 1 Spec. This boat drives up next to us just after we moved away from the same spot he just took over. They started catching like crazy. Their first cast they caught a big ole spec. Then after that Reds and more big specs. I was only 50 yards away and didn't catch a thing same bait same color, same technique, but I just couldn't see how they were holding their mouths. Just one of them days. Anyway that boat left we moved back caught 1 spec 24 inches. Then this big ole gator started chasing my cork around and others in the boat was getting crabby so we called it a day.

i hate when that happens to us man. Leave a spot thinking nothing there; next second someone slapping the fish silly. Pretty trout though. Couldn't beat a day like today on the water though. I was out there also and it was a BEAUTIFUL day out.

Better than working,thats what I always tell myself when its a bad day. Im going hit the bay out of delcambre in the am will report when I get back.

i never been out of there but i hear they've been catching somewhere by a big sandbar? I don't know the area but maybe you'll know what i'm talking about
