Whats the best bang for your buck on Spincast Reels?
 

Looking into getting a nice, smooth spincast setup and was just curious what you guys use and what the best reel for your money is. Not looking to spend a fortune on a reel but i want something thats gonna cast a good ways and keep up.

x2, I'm on my 2nd one (1st one flew out the boat :cry:) and I love it! It's very smooth and holds up well.

Its better to just spend the money on a good reel and the good one will be over a 100 bucks. Cast better and live longer.

I agree. Buy one for the same price as you will buy 2 cause one broke.
I love a smooth casting reel. I never bought one until after I was asked to throw one a few times. Same with a rod. If you fish a few times a month, buy a good rod and reel.
My wife had a Zebco spinning combo from Academy cause she didn't want to buy anything too expensive.
I got her a new Stix spinning rod and a Stratic. Made her throw the Zebco till she was tired of it, then she threw the Stix with the Stratic. The gave the Zebco away. She won't go back to cheap again.

i totally agree that spending a little more now will save you more dollars and headaches later. shimano makes some of the best spinning reels out there. i usually recommend the shimano sedona for a few reasons. they are well balanced, cast well, have a good instant anti-reverse(which is essential in a spinning reel to me), they're reliable and they don't cost an arm and a leg at a mere $59.99 msrp. you can always go up from there like many of the guys on here mentioned. stradics to stellas.. but to me .. you really dont have to spend much to get a great spinning reel. best bang for the buck, what you get versus what you are paying.. i like the sedona. ;)

Thanks guys! I have been looking at the stratics but wasnt sure if i wanted to spend that much but i probably will. I was also looking at the Sahara i take it thats no good haha.

Lol i must be missing something here because i dont get it . . . . . .

Okuma and Shimano are what I have and they both work great. They take the salt well and w/ a little care they will last a while.

Now I need the Grab it Glove, some dead shrimp, a triple hook steel leader and a spark plug and I'll catch all the hard heads I want (but not as many as Kevin!!!) LOL
