Looking for a Good Push-Pole

I am in the Lafayette area and wanted to know if anyone knew any places near to find a good push-pole? Do not mind ordering online if I cannot find local. Thanks

If you want a Stiffy will need to try Houston.

Shawn Braquet 12-07-2010 11:22 AM

what about in lake charles? anyone stock them?

Raymond 12-07-2010 11:24 AM

I think I saw a Stiffy in Lake Charles Tackle.

Yeh I would try Black's Marine. On the Evangeline Thruway next to Super 1. I think Academy carries them too.

Prob for $100. I stopped by there the other day on my way to PI and bought 2 max 4 burlap material packs for my blind. Get to register and lady tells me $55! $26/piece! Last time I buy something from there.

I bought one from Blacks outdoor. It is a one piece welded pushpole. It is a no fail device made out of aluminum. No wood to break or rot. Blacks is on Evangeline Thruway at Willow.

Gerald 12-07-2010 12:22 PM

Shawn......try giving Southside Welding a call. They are on Common st. a few blocks south of Cowboys.

I was there a few days ago, and I think I remember seeing some made out of Al there.

Thank you all very much. Going to Black's. I can always count on my Salty Cajun Brothers.

That is where I found my last one that broke after several uses...they never have any in stock anyway. They gave me their last one from storage the first time I went to them.

Me So Sorry, your avatar gave me a Stiffy:*****:

Ripinlips, get the longest pole you can find, never know how deep it is going to be.

truer words have never been spoken:rotfl:

I had a few alum. poles made. Most welders will make one for around $100, with a V
at the bottom and plug the end. They will float.
Last forever. I hate the adjustable length ones. THey always break on me.

Feesherman 12-07-2010 03:55 PM

Closet pole. Get em at Lowe's, Home Depot, Stines........... Cheap, easy and effective. Been using the same one for over 5 years now. Even better, you can go down to the local high school and see if dey got any old pole vaulting poles they don't use any more. Make great push poles.

gasdad 12-07-2010 04:40 PM

push pole

Agree with big thick wooden clothes hanger rod at Lowe's or home depot and just get a metal duckbill for the business end of the push pole at Academy. Been using mine for years and no problems
