Saturday Slam!

Dularge Trout Fishing!
Sure was a nasty start of the weekend on Friday and Saturday. A cold rain at daybreak forced us to remain indoors on Sat. morning. We fished Friday in it and wanted no part of it again. The camp was nice and warm and the coffee hot. Clayton Breaux and Andy Rulf with Seacor Marine invited Wilbert Suttoon to join us for another trout slam. With over 300 fish caught the day before everyone was pumped to have another great adventure. It was a long 3 hours of watching the radar but the story telling made it pass fast. Lol At 8:30 we were finally headed south down Bayou Dularge with visions of dancing head shaking Yellowmouth trout. Andy swung the first fish in the boat around 9:00 and the fun began. Our first 7 fish were 5 reds and 2 trout. By 10:50am it was over as the 'Claytonator', Andy, myself and Wilbert finished up with 100 fat trout along with our reds. Clayton and Andy had fish coming in nearly every cast for a while as those guys ripped up the fish. It took a little while for Wilbert to get familiar with the soft winter bite but towards the end he looked like a pro! 75% of all our fish were caught on swim baits as they preferred the slow retrieve in the 53 degree water temp. The crew was a blast to fish with and our plans to get in early worked to a tee even with the late start. Big thanks to Clayton and Andy for providing a nice steak supper last night as the company was as great as the meal. Good luck fishing and merry Xmas! Pics posted when I get home.
