Hey Corey, did you ever make it out?

Yeah, we made it. I bought a pushpole yesterday but still wound up barefoot in the mud pulling! We pushed and pulled for about 250-300 yds or so before WLF shows up on an airboat! What a welcome sight since it had taken about 2 hours or so to make it as far as we had. With another 200 or so to go, I'd be likely still out there. WLF guy was a real standup guy and the nicest agent I've ever met!

I asked him if it was always this bad and he said that after several days of strong north winds, yes. Needless to say, Dularge isn't currently my friend and I won't be going back if the words north wind have been mentioned in the past week!!!!!

We still tried to fish after that for a short while. I wasn't much in the mood and the lack of bite and excessive wind didn't help. Well, sometimes you go catchin' sometimes you go fishin'. Today was the latter with a hefty side of mud riding!:*****:

Gotta hand it to the ol 40 merc! It needs a new impeller but it took a beating today and grinned a muddy smile! :smokin:

There were two more boats stuck way further up than us, say 150 yds or so. They had NO water under them at all and one was a pretty big center console! I hope they got out finally!

It's all good in the hood!:*****:

:*****::*****:Yeah, you right! Got wet 3 different times today too! Man, it was just "one of those days!":*****: That pushpole, on the other hand, was almost put back yesterday...I would have paid 3X what I paid for it yesterday had I not had it today!:*****: Great investment and tougher than nails! It actually got used like a prybar a pretty good bit today!

Tim, I'm sure next weekend will be great!...It's my family weekend! I don't get to go every weekend too much anymore!...Now, I know how Ray feels!:*****:

Wow ive never seen it that low right there! sorry yall had trouble, i know how pumped up your dad was. We need to get together and make a trip. I also should have gave you the number to the Terrebone Parish Water Patrol, they are stationed up by the Falgout Canal. If you ever get back out there and get in trouble they will come help you out. The number is 985-876-2500

It's all good man! We still had fun and he laughed at me plenty so, no worries. Now, am I saying I wanna do it again?:shaking::shaking::shaking: Make the best of what ya got. Like I said earlier, there were two way worse off than us so, that made us feel better the whole time!:*****: I really do hope they got those guys out of there!

speck-chaser 01-02-2011 10:37 PM

was that the cut off of dularge canal, right past that lil pumping staion that gets you into the pipeline canal?

southern151 01-02-2011 11:08 PM

Yeah spec. That be the location. It was bad from just inside the goal post. Normally a little mud doesn't bother me and i kept thinking the pipeline should be deeper...man, was I wrong!!!!

LaAngler 01-02-2011 11:17 PM

man that does not look good!

speck-chaser 01-03-2011 10:40 AM

there is a white pipe on the left in dularge bayou right before you get to the pump station before the cut. If you can see mud around it;dont take the cut, you hafta go all the way around. ( unless your in a pro drive) lol
