I haven't got any this year. There's some good hunting in and around sweetlake. I've hunted there a few times with kelly haydel and sammy faulk at gulf fleet retreat. Ducks like crazy out there.

Lake Chuck Duck 01-04-2011 12:27 PM

We havent been doin too hot on the geese out there.

DUCKGOGETTER 01-04-2011 12:35 PM

The geese just aren't in that area like they used to be. We used to have a blind in holmwood and we used to murder the specks there, but there was always 4 or 5 big bodies around the area. Passed by the old hacketts corner the other day and there was 1 small body there. About ten years ago if you had a blind on helms road you had a awesome blind. The geese migration has changed alot over the years, but i don't think they have required a taste for sugar cane and grass ten feet tall in pastures yet.
