Here is my best buck this year. Shot it at 75 yards walking away. The pic of the deer head is a 208+ incher shot by the ranch owner.

Great deer and I am sure even greater memories. Congrats :) |
Very nice deer. I'd say that buck would score 170-185 but you never know. It takes a MONSTER to score over 200. I would love to get one with drop tines.

No doubt a nice deer. i would love to shoot one like that in or out of a fence. I just findin more impressive if it is outside the fence.

Both were from in a fence, several thousand acres. If you have never hunted in a fence before that is several thousand acres it is just like open terrain. Try hunting there and you will see -- it is just about as close to fair chase as you can imagine. Deer act the same and are not as easy to kill as you might imagine. Now, a 200 acre fence, yes like shootin fish in a barrell and no sport really. But if you want to manage a herd of deeer and not have every swingin' &^$# shoot every 4 point they see then you need to hunt a fence to have quality deer unless you have a 10,000 acre plus low fence that is fed protein heavily. And that, my friends, can cost up to 50K a year to feed a ranch that size. BTW, the 11 point was 8 + years old as it had only 4 bottom teeth left. The only reason he has survived is that he was eating protein.
