This boat also had triple Verado's on my friends boat down in the Florida Keys. It is getting outfitted w/ Yammy's within the next 3 weeks! Those Verado's SUCK!

Montauk17 02-02-2011 01:38 PM

Same boat, differant color. All of the wildlife and fisheries boats have them now. If your illegal just keep running from them till the motor gives out. :D

What's up with them? I thought Mercury was calling them the best thing since sliced bread just 2 years ago? I will never own a black anchor again! Last one was the 1997 model that had the fiasco w/ the plastic gear drive for the oil pump......FAIL!

Plastic gears and oil distribution don't go well together!:shaking:

But, hey, it saved $3.99 on production!

Yamaha is on top of the outboard industry. Mercury needs to step there game up soon or they will be in a bind. Funny how mercury was using yamaha powerheads on alot of there four strokes as well as tohatsu in the 5 to 30hp range. The ONLY thing mercury is on top with is inboard boats, and they buy the blocks from general motors and make the drive units. ;)
