S&W .357 rounds

I just got a S&W .357 revolver and was wondering if anybody here has one and what rounds do you "practice" with? I'd like to get a few boxes to just shoot around with, this is my first time buying bullets for a pistol so I'm not sure about the in's and out's of the different brands. I was looking at some Federal Hydra-Shok .38's, are these any good? Thanks!

Just go to a store and buy the cheapest rounds they have. Great thing about a revolver is it will shoot pretty much anything, where as an automatic can hang up on certain brands. I would shoot 38 special just for messing around.

Cheap 38 spl just to kick around, 357 Hydra Shoks or Remington Golden Sabers for the real deal

That's what's in it right now and also in the 2 speed loaders, those ain't gettin' shot for no target practice for sure!

i shoot my carry loads at paper, just to function test the set up & get a good feel for the higher recoil.

I shoot a few of my carry loads also for the same reason, but cheap ones just to burn up

Check with some of the major outfitter stores.
You can get some good deals if you buy them in bulk, like 100 to 200 per order and not big named brands.

Jordan, those looked good til I read the reviews. Seems they are very dirty and smokey...

Academy carries the Monarch ammo, fairly cheap & seems to burn clean, I've shot 20+ boxes thru a couple of my autos without a problem

If ya have a shooting range nearby they sell reloads in the 38 for cheap.

x2 those are good hole punchers, makes a nice round hole with no tears on the paper.
