Weed Eater

I need a new weed eater...don't need a commercial grade or anything but I need something that will last and has decent power. Looked at the Husqavarna at Lowes, but want some suggestions!

Shindiawa.....had a stihl was pretty good also, but think the shindiawa turns up a little more rpm's & power

I've got a Troybilt 4 stroke that I have had for 3 years now. Got all sorts of attachments you can imagine and plenty of power. Also, 4 stroke = no mixing!

I've used home depot's echos and never had a problem. Don't have anything to compare to it though.

I got a Stihl, best weedeater i ever bought. Stay away from the crap sold at those box stores. Get a Stihl or an Echo.

ECHO for sure.

Make sure you get a straight shaft no matter what brand you get.

I went through several big box store weed eaters(one every two years) before I said enough. Went to a local lawn mower dealer and purchased a straight shaft Echo. This Echo has the detach in the center to allow other attachments to be used.

Key to any weedeater.....when done put gas not used back in gas can & run carb empty........the carb (jets) are so small that it doen't take much for evaporation to take place & to gum up or varnish. & use a good fuel stablizer or fuel treatment

FF_T_Warren 03-01-2011 09:23 PM

shindaiwa. you may not need that commercial weedeater, but I can promise you once you use it, you'll never regret buying it

BA1125 03-01-2011 09:25 PM

-Can't beat a stihl for sure
-Cotton's sell's a Homelite (I think), dad's got one and it's pretty sweet
-Echos are good too

:amen: I've had just about all of em......the Shindaiwa is tops! Next would be Stihl. Neither one were commercial grades but you wouldn't know it!
