Another boating accident
A man is missing after he and a friend fell overboard on a recreational vessel at the mouth of at about 3:40 p.m. Saturday, said Coast Guard Petty Officer Wesley Schipley.
A second man was rescued, unconscious, and taken to the hospital, Schipley said. He said the two were the only ones on board when they were thrown from their 18-foot vessel, according to friends of theirs in a second recreational vessel nearby. The friends saw the boat circling, as if no one was steering it, Schipley said. They rescued the first man, but where unable to find the second. Schipley said he could not release the men's names until the Coast Guard notified family members. Representatives from the St. Bernard Sheriff's Office, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, as well as Coast Guard boats and helicopters, are out searching for the missing 53-year-old man, he said. |
ughhh
makes me sick to my stomach |
It is especially sicking when you've been through it. I was thrown from my boat once without the kill switch cord attached and trust once is all you need to help you remember. Seeing that circling around and around passing with a foot or two from you. I have never been that scared before or since.

Man that's sad. Always wear Ur kill switch. And life vest. It may not look "kool" but dying ain't worth anything.
|
Yea, I wear my life jacket anytime the boat is in motion. So does anyone in my boat. If they don't like it they can get out and walk (LOL). Sorry to here about this. This could happen to you. I had a good find of mine died in a boating accident a few years back. I have been in a boating accident and lucking my friend and I survived. WEAR YOUR LIFE JACKETS AND SAFETY SWITCH.

I wear an auto- inflate pfd and my kill switch

Too many accidents lately....that is a shame. If you don't wear a life jacket atleast wear a kill switch,it WILL save your life.
