Mechanic in Lafayette
 

Anyone know of a GOOD mechanic in Lafayette??

Have two things that I want checked out. Called the ford dealership and they said it would be $180 to give me the diagnosis for both problems...

Any other options?

I think Auto zone will scan your truck for free

If your service engine light is on, Advance Auto Parts will check out the codes and clear codes to make light go off, all free.

My parents used to bring their cars to Steve's on Dear st off Pinhook near the thruway before they both got new cars. They have always done good work and wouldnt overcharge

acadiana auto seemed fair, i might try them again if its something i can't turn a wrench on

they tore down a LT1 for me and cleaned the heads/injectors for like $900

Get your vehicle scanned at Auto-Zone. They can tell you what the fault code is. Thinking it's a Ford since you used the dealership, check out
Hoyt's Automotive on High Meadows Blvd. behind the State Police on Pont des Mouton. Hub City Ford is expensive.

Mike's car care center on Rena drive (by Don's seafood hut) has always been good and honest for me.

find the codes some of them are obvious fixes, some are more complicated.

plus one on culotta's. they did some quick work on my last truck. they fixed a problem nobody else could find. reasonably priced and he draws good fishing maps.
