Rockefeller Refuge featured in Country Roads magazine

Keith Benoist wrote a feature article on Rockefeller Refuge for the March 2011 "Outdoors" issue of Country Roads magazine. Give it a read if you have a chance; we'd love some feedback!

Great article. I wish more people, outside this website, would realize what we have here in this state. It truly is breath taking. Our refuge system in this state is like no other.

That pic of that gator and cottonmouth is pretty awesome!

I worked at Rockefeller for 2 summers during college. It is an amazing place. Most people only get to see a small fraction of the enormous refuge. Luckily, I got to experience the vast majority of the reserve and had total access to the deepest corners of this amazing sanctuary. I worked a lot on the Alligator team collecting eggs, tagging and releasing gators, and feeding the captive gators weekly. I have not been back since the 2 storms but often think about visiting.
