Cameron ship channel ferry

The Motor Vessel Cameron Ferry #2 will be removed from service Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 12:00 noon for required five (5) year dry docking service. Ferry will be out of service indefinitely.

The replacement M/V Acadia will be in service during this period. Maximum vehicle length of 51 feet will be permitted. Boarding will be just north of Cameron #2 landing site.

DOTD appreciates your patience.

Thanks for the heads up Ray. If I need to go to Martin West I know I have go the long way around. Without this info I would have found myself making a big loop.

You're welcome.

Good job Ray, this may be the most useful post ever made on SC!

There will still be a ferry there, but loading a truck/trailer combo may be an issue. It is a side loading ferry that you have to drive around the center pilot house.
It is a pain with a trailer.

Ray i'm fairly new to salty, but I like your way of thinking, thanks
