New Academy in Lafayette

New Academy, Louisiana ave. Extension at I-10 in the target Shopping Center!! The foundation is down!

RaginCagin 04-13-2011 08:14 AM

Really? why would they build another one? This is a good location but I dont see the need for 2 of them in Lafayette.

specktator 04-13-2011 08:46 AM

They could definitely use 2 of them. The one on Ambassador is a pain to get to if u don't live on southside. And it's always packed! This new one is less than a mile from my new house. Went check out foundation yesterday. Looks like it is going to be considerably smaller than the other one. Also heard they were putting a Bass Pro right there too.

Its def. more accessible and I hate where the one is currently located but I heard the current one was struggling. Obviously that is BS if they are building a new one.

The one on the southside stays packed everyday. They are not struggling... A bass pro in Lafayette may make me go broke.

I hit the Academy in Lafayette everytime I am in town, just about 10:30 even if I don't need anything. The MILF's up in that house is unreal, almost as good as Target!:smokin:

Truer words have never been spoken! Target on Saturday or Sunday morning is ridiculous.

I'm pumped!! I was wondering what the new slab was for....I'm not sure about bass pro tho..it was either here or baton rouge. I don't think they're gonna do another one

specktator 04-13-2011 10:22 AM

i saw speckdaddy said on facebook a few weeks ago about the bass pro

Finfeatherfur 04-13-2011 10:29 AM

Bass Pro is not coming to Lafayette according to a high up at LPCG. The rumor started when it was announced that this Academy will be the largest ever built complete with a indoor fish pond, etc.,etc. - to mimic a BP store. According to him, this Academy will be better than the Bass Pro in DS, but who knows!??????

longsidelandry 04-13-2011 11:28 AM

I heard they just gonna sell basketballs and pistols at this new Academy on the North side...

It will benefit me sincde I live in Jennings and I won't have to dive clear across town in that stupid Laffy traffic to get there.

YellowMouth7 04-13-2011 12:24 PM

flounder_smacker 04-13-2011 12:37 PM

The one on southside was/is the highest grossing store in the state. I guess they figure they could make more with two stores. I would like to see one store be stricktly hunt and fish and the other be everything else.

From looks of foundation, it doesn't look like it will be very big.

RAKEDLAKE 04-13-2011 04:13 PM

This will be fantastic for the people west of lafayette. The drive across town most anytime sucks majorly. This will be 15 miles down the road. Sweettttttttt.

BIGJ 04-13-2011 10:19 PM

This will be pretty nice. I hate driving to the south side just to go to Academy.
