Looks like everything is growing well.

My garden is a couple week behind yours. My trees shade my garden and it only gets good sun in the mornings.

I do have some Zucchini that will be ready to pick in a couple of days. Yellow squash don't have any flows yet. Green beans [pole] are about 5 feet tall, so they should have flowers in about a week.

Tomatoes....some are 1+ inch in size. Cucumbers have been slow this spring. Plants are just now about a foot long. Bell Pepper plants have lots of flowers.....could have some little pepper by now.

Radishes and lettuce will be ready to start picking by next week. I planted more of each a few days ago.

Shawn....... If you are careful, when this wind dies down....you can spray weed killer around all the veggie plants. Just don't get any on the veggie plants.

Definitely waitin on that wind to die down for the weeds and fishing!! I need to run my cultivator through it for the weeds but overtime at the plant has not allowed me to be at the house for quite a while during daylight hours.

The garden is looking good even in the non-daylight hours.
Too windy for fishing anyway.
Log up that OT now so you can be off when it gets good.

Nice Shawn. I just got home from work Thursday night. I spent 3 hours in mine yesterday weeding. Picked some Zucchini yesterday. My Maters are looking nice nothing ready yet. My Bell Pepper are WAY behind. Cuccumbers are starting and my beans are about ready to start picking. Gonna finish weeding this week stake up my plants and post some pics. Looking good. How does your look Gerald?

Salty 04-30-2011 07:15 PM

Shawn I haven't gotten anything but a lil squach so far. I have two different dates of corn, lady finger peas, cream peas. 2 egg plants, Mexican peppers(jalapeno) bell peppers, and 3 stages of cucumbers going on. No cucumbers yet and only a inch long at this time.
Was cooking a lil crab stew at the shop while kids playing.
I see you have a little one. My son finally just strated getting me a beer out of the fridge. Man things are good when you can get them this far!!!

Hebert 04-30-2011 10:02 PM

Man I'm jealous of your pond, boy if that wind would die down I think my corn could actually get a couple feet taller. Yeah my boy is 18 months and goes to the beer fridge in my shop and gets me a beer and him a capri sun so we both win:grinpimp:. I split up most of my crops into two different plantings as well. Most of what you can see in my pics are the early plants, but it seems that the earlier planting really only benefited the corn and contender bush beans( however on the bush beans the later plants or 3 weeks behind date wise but look like they are only a week behind as far as producing ready to pick beans). I have learned that it was a waste of time to transplant squash, I started all my squash plants in my shop under lights and they didn't take well. My first 15 or 20 squash ended up being chicken food due to blossom end rot from a shallow root system, but after some TLC they are on the right track now. My biggest cukes are around 3 to 4 inches and my tallest plant is only about 16 inches up the trellis(sp).

Pond is fun but since I have 3 kids 4 and under it is so dangerouse. We have a lil gator in it, so I tell them that it will get them and they sorta stay away. I bought this cheap pump and use it to water my garden from my pond and some yard. Grand Lake water bill was killing me!!! I want to put a warf and stock it next year. There is mullet and carp in it from Ike now.

meathauler 05-01-2011 11:53 AM

That is some of raymonds training ponds since I gave up the dogs several years back.

I was supposed to bring my hound and go work some dogs with him one day but I never took him up on that offer.
