Are there any worth while spots to go fishing withing 30 minutes of the metairie area without a boat. Trying to get back into fishing, haven't done it in a while. TIA

Sorry..... I have never fished that area, so I don't know. Some of those Eastern's on LA Sportman should know..... but will they tell you?

There are a few on this board that may be able to help.

i don't fish the area, but i have fished lake ponchartrain near rigolets. that's the slidell side of the lake, trout, redfish were our main targets. If you don't have a boat, i'd imagine the lake shoreline, with the steps, i see people fishing their alot. or else...get into kayak fishing. Even many BOAT DUDE are now venturing over to the exciting kayak. or just make friends...welcome to SC
