Express, Alumaweld, War Eagle or Allweld?

I am thinking about buying an aluminum boat for all-around fishing. I will probably get one 17-20 feet in length. What brands do you like? I had an express years ago and never had any problems out of it. What do you all believe is the best brand for aluminum. Not sure I want to pay for custom. Just need a good all-around rig for some salt water and Toledo Bend action.

Anyone having any problems out of the Express Bay Boats - I have been seeing a lot of them for sale that are barely used and it makes me wonder if folks are not liking them.

Tell me what ya think!

I own an Xpress 18HD CC Bay. The boat is all aluminum no wood, light, fast, drafts 6", wide and stable, jumps on plane quickly, and handles 6' breakers with ease. I have already had die hard bass fisherman trade their bass rigs in for a boat like mine. Have had no issues with itso far.

bohunterbiff,

Thanks for the reply. I see you are up in Rosepine - I live in Deridder. Where is the closest dealer to our area?

I found my boat complete with the Redfish package at the Boat Ramp in Port Arthur, Tx. Great guys to deal with.

H20CC Xpress, hyperlift hull handles chop MUCH better than the hydrodynamic hull. Max HP is 150, but a 115 pushes it nicely

Nice boat mriguy.

I agree, the hyperlift hull is better than my hydrodynamic hull for rough water. My one regret.
