Headlights Fogging.
 

I may have asked this before but I have a 97 Chevy with the headlights and park lights fogging up. How can I get rid of this besides the obvious solution, buy crystal clear headlights and parklights.

Are you getting moisture inside or are they discoloring?

discoloring. It looks mostly on the outside. I'll try and put a pic up tomorrow of it.

They sell a kit to polish/restore them at the auto parts store,may not bring them back all the way,but will help some depends on how discolored they are. Best to replace if they are real discolored.

They aren't very discolored, they're getting there though. The parklights are way more faded though.

buffer with some kit scratch remover works and its cheaper than the headlight restoration kit. cost about $4

Wet sand and buff out with some rubbing compound...cheapest alternative I've found...and guess what,it will come back within a year or two...its basically the same stuff package and sell for 20-25$

Wet sand with 600 then wet sand with 1500! Dry off then buff with compound clear as glass.

I own a company in BR And we service 22 dealerships this is one of the things we do and for them and it works perfect!!

Also..if you don't want to repeat this process year after year...after doing the fix...you should wax your headlights regularly

Very true just a little wax let haze then wipe off about every 4-6 months

Drive thru car wash's are the main culprit that causes this to happen.

I might just bite the bullet and buy some clear headlights and park lights and new tail lights. and a new 3rd brake light.

Ok, took all 4 lights off of both my trucks, headlights and park lights and put some rubbing compound on the lights, rubbed it in about twice, wiped it off, waxed them 3 or 4 times each then sprayed glass cleaner on them and wiped them off. NIGHT AND DAY.
