Spent the weekend putting the shine back!

Spent most of the weekend putting the shine back in the BB before hauling it to Biloxi for the vacation later this week. Didn't realize how dirty it was until you start getting them white again!

I used some tub & tile cleaner from Dollar General to remove the old dirty brown line at the water level, then washed the entire boat with Soft Scrub. This removed all those pesky stains that have been there all summer. Once that was done, started laying coats of New Glass2 to resotre the shine to the gelcoat. Came out pretty good, although I have some more rubbing to do this week on the console. I hate that old faded look from the sun damage.

I think it came out pretty good for a 2002 hull!

You can't pay me enough for the physical labor, but I can surely offer my supervision and expert managment techniques for a consulting fee!:*****::*****:

Sadly, about six months out of the year it is not covered, but I am thinking of adding on to my shop to have covered parking!

I hear ya! My Dad's theory is you can offer a man money for his help & get turned down, offer him free beer & you'll have more help than you need!

Hey FFF! We are headed down to Gautier Thursday afternoon for the weekend! If you want a shadow or want to just get together and drink some brew, let me know...I should be at the camp or on the water all weekend!

Finfeatherfur 08-03-2009 04:31 PM

Chris, would love to, although I don't think I am the one to "shadow" over there. Only my second trip and we are planning on spending the first day and half on Ship Island for the kids to play. We are bringing our Tripletail traps and I have a source that has put me on some pompano which I love to grill. Them little things are good!

Where is your camp?

Chris Havoc 08-03-2009 04:54 PM

well I like to think of it as "my camp" when in reality its my neighbors camp, its not my fault his boat wont fit in his own covered slip! I would offer for you to shadow me, but I doubt it would do you much good! The camp is at Mary Walker Marina in Gautier which is about 15 miles east of biloxi by land. Fishing has been slow over this way...at least for me it has. Depending on where your going to be launching, if you dont feel like making the run all the way over to ship, make the ride out to horn....its only about 7 miles south of biloxi where as ship is more like 15. People usually gang up on the tips. Goodluck and I hope to see ya out there!

p.s. What kind of trap do you catch 3tails in? They are alot thicker than normal here this year, so maybe you can get on a few.

I Don't Think So!

Finfeatherfur 08-03-2009 06:42 PM

It's not really a trap, because you still have to hook em'! We take squares of plywood 2' x 2' and tie a weight to them, drop them off in different areas and come check them every hour, amazing how they find them!
