Thanks for the reminder!! those dam things are everywhere! i had a good size shark eat my skitter walk last summer on the beach (i hope he choked on it!) and i saw someone pull in one about 4' last month when i was at lil fla beach. both fish big enough to do some damage if given the chance.

Follet's Island south of San Luis Pass is where I do most of my surf fishing as well...I've seen quite a few sharks that exact area, including some large shadows and dorsals that I've "pretended" not to see as not to freak out my wife.

Damn, she's pretty lucky he didn't run off with that chunk of her leg. They don't usually let go like that! Thats something thats always on my mind when I wading out in the surf. Especially in the muddy water around here where you cant see anything around you!
