Big Lake 6.4.11 - The Real Rest of the Story

Hit the water at 5:00am and parked up on our spot to beat the launch crowd but it ended up that the navigation lights attracted boats like moths to a flame as potlickers were out in full force almost immediately. Using W's advice to our advantage, we did the exact opposite and C. Reed put us on the fish.

A purple "poptail" got us going, and we proceeded to catch fish on the poptail, pearl/chartreuse Jerk Jr's, Geaux Dogs, and Skitterwalks. The crowds wouldn't let you stay in any one spot for very long so we hit a few different spots, moving once our fellow boaters decided that what was really needed to wake the fish up was to motor over the reefs at full speed (minn kota is in business for a reason!!).

Ended up with a box full of fish but no real big ones to speak of. Comeaux did manage to have the biggest catch of the day as he proceeded to test the durability of his topwater bait by bouncing it off my head:work:

BTW, no live bait was harmed in the making of this photo.

From one Micah to another.....good job. That's a nice mess of fish.

PaulMyers 06-04-2011 10:41 PM

Thanks for clearing that up for us.:smokin:

Oh, and a nice box of fish also.:)

Nice mess of fish. Any battle wounds from the flying trebles? :D I don't understand why alot of people don't ice there fish down better. Makes cleaning them a pain in the azz. Like filleting warm jello.
