I can't believe the limit on Scaulp is only 2. When I duck hunted, they were bad as mosquitos. If you shot one, the flock would come back and land with the dead one.
We had a one armed older guy hunting with us. He would come in with a limit of Black Jacks every day.

we get alot of them up on the red river where we hunt. they are thick up there too

NO way you can kill a Black Jack with one shot....Takes about 3 or two with lead!!! JJK

we havent seen as many the past few years the basin or catahoula area.Whats really strange is that we didnt see that many woodies either in the swamp. I think osama probably has them in recession too.

that sucks we can only kill one mottle duck

Ray 08-04-2009 10:23 PM

Mottled ducks are a dime a dozen in lower Cameron Parish too.

at least we can shoot 1 canvasback now. wax lake usually full of them! one mottle sucks! went out to my lease in PI the other day and it was covered with them. im sure opening day they will be all over us but after that they get smart and stay away from blinds. i actually saw a good bit of mottles and teal fly over me while i was on big lake this past sunday. i always see a few but not as many as i saw sun.

Hopedale Hustler 08-05-2009 03:26 PM

huntin fool 08-07-2009 10:52 PM

adamsfence 08-07-2009 11:16 PM
