Yea I would not mind paying 550 a trip and land some black drum like that

DUCKGOGETTER 06-16-2011 08:53 AM

There's no way i would even take a picture like that

SaltyShaw 06-16-2011 09:12 AM

Wow this is serious.......

Not until I signed up with SC, have I heard inshore saltwater fish reported in pounds like bass. Around here, you will never hear a fisherman discuss the weight of a speck unless it pushing 10 lbs. or more.

Hell, I don't even have a scale in my boat.

*** I sure hope that guy in the pic asked the guide to only target reds and black drum. ***

Until I looked on 2cool I never knew people keep Sheephead and they had a limit on them

And I never seen anyone care so much about the length of a trout....
And I never understood a Post Topic like "Great Day loaded the Boat"
and its a Limit of Sheephead and black Drum...
And I never seen a Gafttop on a Boga Grip
And I never seen a Gaftop in an Ice chest

Raymond 06-16-2011 09:47 AM

To me it looks like the guides on our lake are really missing the boat.
They need to start advertising in Texas for guided Black Drum and Sheephead trips; NO LIMITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:smokin:
With Houston's population at 3 million,Dallas/Ft Worth 1-1.5 million, and San Antonio 2 million Texas guides have a huge population of guilible folks with $$$ and no smarts.;)

DUCKGOGETTER 06-16-2011 10:10 AM

Agree 100% raymond

flounder_smacker 06-16-2011 10:11 AM

I don't care what y'all think. Sheephead taste good. If I catch good eating size ones the are getting fileted

SaltyShaw 06-16-2011 11:01 AM

You can have all of em, ill be throwin em back.

Feesherman 06-16-2011 12:13 PM

I'd keep a sheephead but they never hit my top plugs or my sand eels or anything like dat.

Montauk17 06-16-2011 12:24 PM

Sheepshead are very good, white meat with no worms, unlike specks..... If you eat redfish, small black drum taste the same or better. Now would I pay a guide for a black drum and sheepshead trip? Hell no...

CORRECT! Can't stand that sh*t. I am all for coming here legally and working. Just don't cheat the system...one works at mcdonalds and all 12 in the household as "dependents" get insurance. BS TO ME

Ray 06-16-2011 03:45 PM

I eat Sheephead too. Just a pain to clean.
I never caught Sheephead on live bait yet.
They will hit artificial quick fast and in a hurry.

My goal when fishing is to catch enuff to eat
after fishing and some to give to my dad and
his brother.
