Grand Isle - 6/30/11

Today was our inshore day here on Grand Isle for the annual M&K fishing tournament. We had four inshore boats go out today, Daryl Carpenter of Reel Screamers guide service put the trip together for us, we will have 3 offshore boats going out tomorrow.

I fished with Captain Frank with Laid Back Charters (225-202-2584) and another boat close to us fished with Captain Barry with Fish-N-Tell Charters (225-938-2419). These guys were great, it is always fun when you catch fish and fish with guides that are personable.

We had an unusual north wind this morning and that had the fish a little spooked as most of the guides on the island were struggling to catch fish. Captain Frank kept moving and knew that he would find the fish. Around 9:00 he did exactly that. We ended the day with just under 70 trout with most 20 inches or better. Captain Frank had us on some true hogs today. All fish were caught with live shrimp and croaker on the bottom.

The pictures below are with just the fish from Captain Frank's boat as our other guides had already started to clean fish. Our four boats finished with 68, 51, 34 and 18 trout, respectively.

Great job Boss! It looks like everybody really had a good time.

On a side note, Are you not allowed to have hair to work for M&K?
