Now that's some fantastic news.
All the beaches are open to drive on, just stay off the dunes? That's great!

Parish crews have been working west of Holly Beach to dispose of the masses of seaweed washing up all along the coast. The seaweed is raked up and
moved by front end loader to be piled up, creating new dunes between the beach and the highway. Only heavily used tourist areas are being cleaned at this time. The seaweed is beneficial in holding sand and restoring beach lost to erosion.

They did that same thing to the East of Holly Beach a few years before RITA. The only problem was that some people on 4 wheelers tore them up.

Cannot drive on the beaches West of Holly Beach, you can only drive on Holly Beach.

Dat ain't no good at all. I took that sign to say that you could drive on the beach, just not over 10mph and stay off the dunes they were building.
I don't like dis at all! :(

Now this is a genius idea, why the heck can't our brethren to the east do this! Last week at Elmer's and on GI the beach was filthy, why they don't pile it up and make dunes?

Last time I went west of the beach there were pull-ins every so often in between the dunes. Basically just found on and pulled right in and stopped just shy of the beach near the dunes. Wasnt bad at all. Just couldnt go everywhere.

Those "pull-ins" have been blocked off west of Holly beach where the rock are located.

I'm sure it's coming. The developers want to ruin it for the fishermen, just like they have nearly done in Galveston, near the SLP area.
