how far do u have to go to catch snapper out of the cameron jetties?

never been but i would have to guess the same! My friend said he like at minimal, 50ft of water.

I've heard its a foot a mile till you get to 45 miles or so. Not sure how accurate that is though. I've never been offshore from there. I would rather drive east go 20 miles out and be in at least 100'

30 miles at minimum but I don't even start fishing them until I get past the 10 fathom curve which is around 40 miles out of cameron.

I remember limiting on snapper one time at 34 miles out of FWC
