you might want to consider going farther if you want red snapper. We haven't been hearing of anyone catching within 30-40 miles out. Mangroves might be there though along with a ton of sharks. We've been catching ours around 60 miles out and I think we stopped at one rig around the 40 mark and spotted some mangroves but only got one. There were too many sharks coming up while chumming. I don't remember if we tried for snapper there.

And the road has been good.

I was afraid of that......I knew the water had moved out farther, but wasn't sure how much farther......not sure I wanna run that much......

it can always change, but thought i'd let you know. We've talked to guys at the landing who didn't run as far and some got skunked as far as red snapper goes. I think they had ran 30ish miles out. Frikin water looks great 10 miles out though. They have a bunch of rigs that look like they'd be worth a shot for specs lol

YellowMouth7 07-14-2011 11:56 AM

Our big Snaps came around 60 miles
