Anyone want to do me a favor?
Im trying to find out if I can get another butt pad for an old Revelation auto 12 shotgun. The one on it is starting to dry out and crack. Its made by Pachmayr. They have a web site but I cant get to it due to this dang web block at work because it has to do with "firearms"! Its driving me nuts! Can anyone see if the have one pre-fit for this gun still? Maybe even a customer service number? It would be well appreciated!

If you cant find a exact match A good gun smith can order one close & do a little trimming & fitting & make it look nice.
I take all the recoil pads (rubber) off every gun I own, if I shoulder gun quickly butt won't slide, the rubber has a tendency to grab shirt, I get my gun smith to make a hard plastic butt plate |
I have one from an old NE single shot that is like that and close to the right size. I've been debating if I want to try to make that one fit or not.

Just shoot an old Stevens Savage 12 gauge twice barrel like me .
32" barrels. gun is so heavy you dont need a butt pad. Bare wood works. |

I'm re-finnishing the stock on it as well. Just tryin to make it look nice again. Sweet shooting gun though. Might use it for dove season this year. I have an old Fox s/s I might re-finnish also.

Nowadays most newer rifles are going to a solid piece of rubber bout 3/8" thick, don't like that either. I'll take a picture of one this evening for ya |

Yea, length was my only concern. Im around 5'10" so it shouldnt be a problem, but it already felt about right with the other one on it. Plus, this one has a big NEF stamp on the back of it. Doesnt quite go with the gun. It is the closest match I have found so far when it comes to size thugh. E-bay has this one....
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT But its slightly bigger. If you think I may be able to cut it down some I might bid on it? |
Sure.......start with a belt sander to cut it down then start dropping to a finer grit by hand & finish up with steel wool to polish it back out......
|
I thought it was hard, its rubber....I don't know
