Sabine Lake 7-15

Snuck in a quick trip this morn before the storms. Got to the lake just as the wind started ,so my area to fish was very limited. Second cast pick up a trout ,while taking him off the hook wind blows me into the bank .So in the attempt to get off the bank I lose a blade on the trolling motor prop, it dont work to good with one blade. Manage to pick up two more trout and 3 flounders . Then the bottom fell out ,so I called it a day . Finished with 3 trout and 3 flounder ,all on white gulp swimming mullet on 1/4 ounce rockport rattler jig heads.

If you get down to the lake when the tide is coming in......try fishing on the bank [east side] of the small island when you first get there. I have seen it when the trout have been feeding there.

I have also done well out around where the oil structures are in the very north part of the lake.

Have you found any birds feeding out in the lake? There is also some good areas to sight fish Red's.

Havent seen any birds yet on the lake. Im pretty limited rite now to my areas to fish due to my boat . Dont wanna get stuck out there in a 15' flat. I plan on trying the oil stuctures and the area around that island in the future. So far I have managed to find fish before I get around there.
