Heart monitor

several have asked so here it is.

Over the last 2 months I have had 2 times that I know of where my blood pressure went to 70/40 and heart rate is 40. Normal for me is about 130/70 with heart rate of 70. After the first time the doctor said to monitor it. Well it happend again last Wednesday and the doctor ordered me to wear a heart monitor to see if we can catch it if it happens again to get the fixed/taken care of. I will probably have to wear the monitor 2 weeks or so. I hope it happens while I am wearing it.

The wife says no fishing by myself and I agree with her. Both time I noticed it, I was standing up and liked to have passed out and got very light headed.

Take care of that ticker man! Had a real close call with my dad last year and that ain't at all funny! Hopefully the monitor catches it!

Man take it easy and prayers sent for you man. Just ask chuck he'll come fish anytime you want him to if he's off

I had to wear one myself for a couple days. they never got the heart flutter on the reading, but went in for an ultrasound of my heart and found my mitral valve prolapses. I hate to hear your situation jchief. Best of luck to you, and although I do not wish for it to cause you pain, I hope it happens while you wear the monitor in hopes of catching the anomoly so the doctors can better help you.

Back at it shortly

Hey Chief,

Take it easy a while and you'll likely be back at it shortly....Probably having a few runs of a-fib, maybe a diet change and/or a little digitalis and you will be good to go....ofcourse based on your age and medical history....Don't borrow trouble, take it easy and listen to your doctors, this is a fairly common occurance....Don't worry yourself too much....I'm sure you will be fine!!! I had a few runs once before that got me over to the doctor and he told me....no drinking, no salt intake, no caffeine, no smoking, no dipping, no greasy foods....I told him to get my DNR orders going now, cause that would never happen....I straightened up for a while, but you can't change a tigers' stripes....I'm just more sensible now, I only eat 2 lbs of cracklin, not 4!

jchief 07-21-2011 02:21 PM

Yeah Frank. I already had a run of a-fib. Had a lot of tests already for that.

Just want to figure this crap out. Scary.

Wife is a RN so, I hear it already. But, the lady that set me up with the monitor said to do my normal stuff.

We shall see.

Thanks for the well wishes and prayers.

Paul, maybe tomorrow afternoon if you game. Gotta check with Marlene first. Her Bday today.

I should be good to go. I haven't gone in to see the Dr yet but I think everything is ok. If so, I'll be going back to work Tuesday night. I'll keep you posted.
