poll: who's right in this vid?

vid has caused major debat on other boards...is the dude right for exercising his right?or should he have complied with everything th eLEO asked fully?

mikedatiger 07-28-2011 09:18 PM

Well one thing is for sure, the officer is one hell of a guy and acted using the utmost respect and patience.

evidrine 07-28-2011 10:32 PM

Awesome video man. Thats what law enforcement is all about. Great cop in my book. He just made sure the guy was stable and not any kind of a threat without being a ***** about it and was fully respectful of the guys rights the whole time.

Yes....I agree.

eman 07-28-2011 10:41 PM

Why are you asking whos right ??? there was no disagrement between either party??? Cop did his job and the open carry knew his rights and neither infringed on the other.

msu-tfrancois 07-28-2011 11:07 PM

so u can get pulled over and not have to show them a license or give your name? ***

Dink 07-28-2011 11:09 PM

That's California. After Rodney king, cops have less rights there

msu-tfrancois 07-28-2011 11:15 PM

thats wild....wish all cops were like him....thas the ones that deserve ya respect..seems to me like the guy gettin pulled over was kinda bein a douche

booyagasha 07-28-2011 11:19 PM

If the camera wasn't on I seriouslydoubt it woulda went down like that. I was asking about how he refused to give his info, given that most of you would consent to a search, would yall have reacted the same?

msu-tfrancois 07-28-2011 11:22 PM

if a cop acts like that i'd cooperate....but then again if it was an ol highschool nerd on a powertrip i'd have a totally different reaction to situation...respect goes both ways

southern151 07-30-2011 11:10 AM

I'm not too sure what there is to debate here. One exercised his rights and the other respected them. I think the cop did a good thing by stopping and asking him what he was up to. Just think, that could have been some guy going to film another massacre at a university or something along those lines. Just my .02

Hopedale Hustler 07-30-2011 11:19 AM

Good police work right there he obviously understands that we have rights

FF_T_Warren 07-31-2011 01:40 AM

the cop did a great job but I wouldnt have done that. Idk how the heck they just let him walk off without ID'ing himself. Guy could have warrants or felonies and they just let him walk off with a gun. While the cop showed great respect, it would have gone alot different when he the guy started acting cocky and not telling who he was.

Dink 07-31-2011 01:54 AM

The camera made the cop nervous obviously. It would have gone differently if there was no camera.

booyagasha 07-31-2011 07:17 AM

EXACTLY...i can pretty much promise you that would have went down alot different off camera.Like i said in a previous thread, if you feel as if you're in danger in any way, video it for your protection. This goes along with consenting to a search. You have rights man, same as this dude understood his rights about not giving his info. (i bet alot of you didnt know that.)

one more question, if and when the next storm passes and there is a state of emergency, if the sheriff ask you for all your munitions and arms would you hand them over just because he asked?they did this during katrina, would you on the next go round? hah this should be interesting!!

southern151 07-31-2011 07:54 AM

If I had won the lottery last night, I probably wouldn't be going to work tomorrow. Since I didn't, I'll never know how it would have played out.
In short, ya just don't know. Again, what's the debate? Don't like the cops?... Go pick a fight with em and get tazed! Disrespect when you're in the wrong and pulled over for it. It stimulates the economy! Lol!

And, what's this munitions after Katrina deal? This is the first I've ever heard of it.

They went around seizing all guns that anyone had after the storm.

southern151 07-31-2011 08:01 AM

Abandoned or in posession? Registered to those in posession, if so?
