Big Lake - 7.31.11

Switched gears from Trinity yesterday and hit Big Lake today with Mallardfish and his friend - no definitive count but we had to have caught over 100 fish. Started the morning anchored on a reef and had 35 before the bite died around 9:30. Since the wind was non-existent we decided to play around and went to the beach/offshore (water at beach was terrible). Came back in the lake around 11:00ish and found em chasing shrimp and put da Hamma on em. The fish were so active that if you caught a fish a whole mess of em would follow it to your boat. We caught em in one spot till 1:45 and left em biting.

Even saw a shark and a sea turtle in the lake!

Best color was Pearl/Chartreuse (jerk) and we threw some corks today as well.

Will post a box shot...

jesus christ!! What part of the lake were you fishing or were you fishing the lake? We were out there but only managed to pull up about 20 specs, and 3 man limit of reds. Sure was a nice day of fishing though, super calm!

Here's the box shot as "proof"

We didn't have any giants, in fact most fish we had to measure, but dang it was fun!

And, no live bait was harmed in the making of that picture.
