Handheld GPS
I'm looking for a good handheld GPS that has at least a base map and can take a SD or Micro SD card so I can transfer my waypoints to it. Lacking that option, I would need to be able to connect it to my computer to be able to make the transfer.
Anybody know of a good brand and model that would do what I need? TIA, EVO |
I like Garmin, I have a 60CSx but they have newer models out now. I beleive the newer ones come with all of your upgraded maps installed, look at the 62 series

I have the same one Weedeater does. You have to connect to a computer and I believe you can purchase other maps for it.
One thing Paul, get as big a screen as you can. Old eyes and all that crap. |

The Garmin 76 series is a good one too.
I had the original 76C and it is still doing good after 10 years. It comes with mapping software that you can add everything on the computer, then download on the GPS. You can save all your areas and maps, then switch if you want to. Just keep everything saved on the computer. |
Thanks Ray, That sounds interesting.

Inshore? Try the evo

FYI Paul the 78 series replaced the 76 series. Very easy to use and interfaces with a computer easily

I have a Garmin Etrex Vista HCx. I am really pleased with it.
