Ran out of money on Fat Tuesday, had to pool our money at the K&B on Esplande and only had enough to buy a case of Dixie. Biggest headache I have ever had on Ash Wed.
Last time I have ever held a can of the stuff.

The old Dixie in the real tin cans was some good stuff. The stuff they make today ain't too bad. But that old tin can used to kick my *** often.

They were steel cans back then. You couldn't crush them at all. We'd smash them with a metal bat and throw them on our shell pile at the camp, where they'd rust away in the salt air. Dixie is still around. Check your local Winn-Dixie. It only comes in bottles now and it's brewed up North somewhere. Thugs ransacked the brewery on Tulane Ave. during Katrina and stole all the copper tanks. It's still the only beer in the country aged in cypress casks. They are working to get the Tulane Ave. brewery back on line. I can't wait for that.

I have taken a liking to cold beer, cold wine, cold whiskey and hot women...
But I have never tried Dixie... Yet...
