Need BL Advice - Last Summer Trip with son

I am heading to BL early Friday for a last day of fishing before football & school starts. Fishing in a 16' alum with 50 HP & trolling motor. I don't have GPS. I have found some BL GPS coordinates and looked at them on Google Earth and have a general idea of where they are at. But on the water, no idea.

We will fish with live shrimp under a cork and plastic if they want em.

I am looking to launch at cal point or Heberts and was wondering where my chances are better to catch fish.

I was going to try to find some birds or a reef to fish over. The only reef I know that is marked is the one in the South by the old jetties. I have only fish BL 3 times so I am still learning.

I am looking for schooling trout to put in the box.

Thanks

Friday is almost just as bad as a weekend. I try to not fish Fri-Sun.

Stay south as everyone else has said.

It will probably be crowded this Friday with everyone prefishing, besides the normal crowd

last Fri...I fished 3 reefs with no one around

School is starting and summer is over.....Not going to be as big as crowds as we have had

X2 Crowds were not bad this past Friday. 9 mile is the place to be if u have live skrimps. May not have alot of size, but you will catch trout.

may want to launch out of hackberry if your going to fish 9 mile, a little shorter ride than cal point, and you wont have to cross the lake from heberts

Especially if you are only in a 15' boat.
