Tournament Final Standings & Summary

I want to thank everyone for coming on Saturday and for those of you that did not fish but donated your entry fee to St. Jude. I will have a total tomorrow regarding the amount of money that we raised for St. Jude but I know it is in excess of $3,000.

This was my first opportunity to meet many of you and I already knew this but we have a great base of members on this site. I am disappointed that I did not have the tournament as organized as I would like but this was my first tournament and I will get better. Any errors that were made or delays were 100% on me.

Of course I want to thank our sponsors for the event, they gave so many great prizes, it looks like most of the people that purchased raffle tickets were winners. There were also some great buys in the silent auction.

A special thanks also to BlueChip for donating the first place youth division price and to Marsh Works for coming all the way from Mississippi and filming the event. Marsh works used my night boat for filming and took great care of it. Southern 151 and his crew performed for free on Friday and even turned thier tips in to me to go to the St. Jude Donation. Also Speckdaddy did a great job as the official weight master. I had a tremendous amount of help from several people, your contributions helped save the day from my lack of experience. So what do you think guys make in an official annual event every summer?

That being said, it was a great tournament and I really enjoyed it. The officaal leader board was as follows:

Largest 3 trout Stringer by team name:

Ellender - 14.92 ($1,175)
Drew - 13.70
Shaw - 13.29

Largest live trout

Kade Shaw - 7.20 (rod and reel combo)
Chris Comeaux - 3.30
Shawn Braquet - 2.06

Trash Fish

JW Meche - 4.47 Black Drum ($200)

Youth Division

Kyle Gott - 2.14 (lifetime fishing lic & reel and tackle combo)

I left a thank you to Southern out of my orginal post, this has now been updated. Without his PA system we would have been in big trouble. Also performing the night before free of charge was very cool....

Toledo Bend is way to low to have a tournament anytime soon. I hope we have a wet winter to fill her back up for the spring spawn. I do like the idea though.....

awesome event! I wish I wouldn't have already scheduled my trip to gulf shores, i would of cancelled if it wasn't for the other half!

ElectricChicken 08-16-2011 04:47 PM

Congrats to everyone who placed! Might want to think of a two tourney format. One could be a little earlier in the year- May/June and another in August/Sept. With a $25 entry per man it makes it very doable for almost everyone and it would also allow some of the guys to at least fish one. I know I read quite a few post of guys who just could not make it although they wanted to. Just a thought.
