Lower unit

:confused:Got a seal leaking behind the prop, is replacing the seal a huge job for a pro, or is this something I should takle?

If you have never done it before I would suggest you bring it to someone that has. Never replace just the prop shaft seals. Re seal the with all new seals and get it over with.

Seal kit is around 100 bucks. Labor will depend on the shop. Most would charge about 3-4 hours. Now is also a good time to change your water pump while the lower unit is off. Water pump will cost anywhere between 50-100 bucks depending if the housing needs to be changed or not.

so we're talking the full service for the lower unit, when chris marine was on hwy 27, it was right at 500 bucks.
