Got the Curado loaded with 832 and was wondering what do you use for leader to tie on the uni knot and how far does the mono/floro leader need to be?

I use a small swivel with about 20" of leader. Less line twist and much easier to fool with while on the water.

50 power pro, Double uni, #20 Seagar red label floro., 50" leader. I use this for trout, reds, bass, live bait and arti. My current biggest catches are a 40+ pound Jack and a 6 foot gator

I tired that before, did not like the the knot banging up the guides. Guess I can't tie a low profile knot or something.

Also if you want to test line or knot strength get a bow poundage scale. It has marker for max pounds reached.

They are a bear to tie. Sometimes it takes me 6 to 8 tries to get it right. When you get it right it is a beast of a knot. Also you can play around with how you point your rod when you cast to help keep knot bump down.

Here is a pic of the Jack. To me an hour to land it with a 6'8" Shimano Cumara with a 200E Curado.

I use 20lb 832 and 20lb floro leader with a uni to uni. If you tie your leader 5 or 6 ft depending on the length of your rod. It will have momentum when it goes thru the first guide and that will eliminate the guide bump. I use the same set up with micro guides and have no issues.

Yeah man them big ole jacks will strip some drag in a hurry! I fought one smaller than that and by the time I got it to the boat it was dead.

Had one of them clean all the line off my reel last year on Holly Beach rocks.

uni to unit knot works well if you don’t want a swivel running through your guides.

I use a short leader with a uni to uni knot if I use a leader at all. Most of the time I tie braid straight to the lure.
