Lead Heads?
Just a question. Do you guys use colored jig heads or just plain one's?? I've always used the plain ones but wanted some opinions on if the colored ones make any diffrence for trout.

I have always used the plain ones. The colored ones flake off fast anyways. With plastic you are getting a reaction bite so I don't see it making a difference.

I mostly use plain also.
Unless I need some now and can't find any.

I used to use chartreuse heads only then I started using plain heads not sure why I switched. I think I ran out and all they had were plain and red so I went with the plain and never looked back. I think sometimes the chart ones are too bright and you will never run into that problem with plain ones

i usually use plain, but if the water is really clear, i like to put a red leadhead on a white or glow body for a 'clown' or injured look.

Red, bronze and chart. Are my favorites. I try to match the color of my bait and extend the color patern.

Then color of your bait shouldn't matter either.
I look at it more of an extension of the color to catch their eye.

I hardly consider fishing with plastic a reaction strike . Fishing with a gold spoon or spinner bait for reds yes reaction strike

Under most situations you don't give the fish time to get a good look at the bait while working a plastic therefore it is a reaction bite. I don't buy into having 100's of different colors. Dark bait for dark water light bait for light water. I use the KISS rule, has not failed me yet.

i agree on the color part but as far as giving a fish enough time to see what they are eatin i call bs . the psat few trip ive made have been in some vry clear water and you can sight fish the trout watching one slowly follow a bait all the way tothe boat , stop study it glare its gills and strike that plastic is something you have to experience

I agree......reaction strike normally comes from fast moving, erratic or heavy vibration baits

Ok sorry for giving false information....all I meant by it was I catch just as many fish with a plain leadhead.
