Redfish still in Calcasieu River

Just caught a limit of 20+ inch red fish off my dock in the Westfork. All on Marshworks Buzzbait.

Guys I can't speak highly enough on these Buzzbaits. I've had the same soft plastic (3 inch bayou thumper) on the same buzz bait tied on for 3 weeks now. I've caught over 70 fish on the SAME soft plastic. No lie guys.

I just put a picture on facebook of a red on the buzzbait if someone would post for me.

Get out Get bit!

Huntin Fool, Nice catch. That is the first time I have heard of redfish hitting a buzz bait. Does it just work in very shallow water or over deeper water as well.

That red was caught in 36 feet of water. It is absolutely stupid what the reds do to hit this buzzbait. Works in both shallow and deep, also works for trout. Just like a topwater plug but much easier to fish! And still catches same amount if not more.

Nice...thanks for sharing that technique.

Awesome man. I've always wanted to try one but just never did it.

huntin fool 09-06-2011 01:01 PM

It's killer for some reds. I plan to try it on some trout soon.

SGib 09-06-2011 01:06 PM

Do you throw it early? Late ? Anytime?

Mainly early and late. However if the are schooling or very active ill throw it anytime.

evidrine 09-06-2011 01:13 PM

SGib 09-06-2011 01:14 PM

Alright thanks. Might give this a try soon. Turners prolly a great place to perform the test. Ha

1fastmerc 09-06-2011 05:29 PM

Slidellkid 09-06-2011 07:15 PM

Thanks. That is interesting. Never caught a red on a buzz bait. Where can I buy the Marshworks buzzbaits?

huntin fool 09-06-2011 08:43 PM

Slidell, PM marshworks on here and he can get you lined up.

Merc, I was throwing a newer color, silver mullet is the name I think. If you would like to get on Marshworks monthly mailing list for new baits and tips go here
