No tide early , pick up 3 on top at super cut...ran to monkey island area and a freaken jack up rig was in my spot i wanted to fish. About 10am tide started moving some, caught 7 in about a hour, really slow. Had a buddy with me that wanted some reds, ran to east bank and got 5 good size eaters and called it a day. Water was great everywhere we went.

calcutta37 09-10-2011 02:11 PM

full moon might be messing with the tide

I got them here is an insert:

Sep 27, 2010

Picked up fool at Hebert's at 5:45, water was calm, clear, and tide was high. Had 1/2 tank of fuel in Haynie, so decided to run to Mexico. Water was dirty, came back thru Florida picked up a Spanish mackerel at Islamorada on a Jerk Jr, fueled up even though I had 1/3 tank left. Headed to Biloxi, picked up 2 dink trout and a hardhead. Threw castnet for 3 hours (mainly tacos), finally got a full spread on the net and caught 2 finger mullet. Carolina rigged the finger mullet and broke off on a blacktip right at the boat, and caught 25 lb black drum. After collecting myself from excitement of the drum, threw it in the icechest and grabbed som emarket shrimp. Caught 6 sheephead around some pilings, and could not be more happy. Headed back to Big Lake, threw a topwater around some other boats just to let people think I throw them all the time, and then headed back to the ramp. Total mileage = 1,241 miles, total fuel usage = 10 gallons. Trip report = 1 spanish, 1 drum, and 6 sheephead. Best trip ever.:p
