Advice Please

1 Attachment(s)
I just purchased this truck this week. 07 tundra w/ the 5.7 eng. I'm only getting 14 av. MPG so for.

Can anyone tell if if getting a superchip for this truck would be worth the cost. Was hoping to get a little better gas mileage.

It has 295 /70R 18 tires.

Please advise as I haven't had a truck that was lifted and so forth before.

The owner indicated that he was getting about close to 17-18 MPG.

I guess he was NOT telling me the truth.

Thanks

Biggun

Sounds right, everyone I know with a tundra gets pretty bad fuel mileage. Looks like you need to lift the back some to level it out. Unless you like the cali rake look....

Everyone I know with a Tundra tells me they SUCK gas. Just wait till you hook a boat & trailer to the back of it :)

TRD. Toyota Racing Development. Not what I'd call a fuel sipper. It's made to hump it.

Love the Tundras and Tacos! But as stated i hear all the Tundras love gas! I put an edge programmer in my GMC it seemed to help some but not sure what it would do on that beast.

There's a dude that works here at the paper mill who drives about 60 miles round trip to work every day. He bought a Tundra last year. It's a 4WD with the big engine. When I was kinda thinkin' of buying one, he told me he consistently gets 18-19 "mtg" on the highway. Should'a known he was BS'n.

I have the 08 4wd. I dont even like to calculate my fuel mileage.:shaking: Im thinking about 12-14 highway, and less when Im pulling my boat or equipment. I really love my truck though. As long as I can make enough money to feed it,I will run the tires off that sucker. Its a beast!!

It's got the big motor, which equals big money at the pump, chips & filters don't do as well on gas burners as they do on diesels.
