Prien Lake area 9/20/2011

Evening trip by boat. Fished across the channel from Citgo and caught 2 decent Reds, 18" and 22", and a ton of small Flounder that I threw back and a ton of Golden Croaker and undersized Specks. I kept 2 Golden Croaker that were 12 inches. All caught on Smoke colored Gulp Swimming Mullet on a lead head. Also caught some kinda crazy looking fish with lots of teeth. My leader got cut twice, may be this goofy looking fish.
Moved to L'auberge area and caught a small Speck. and 3 med. sized Flounder. Called it quits and went home to clean. Ate the Trout and Croaker tonight. Flounder and Red fillets were vacuum packed and put in the freezer. Water temps are finally falling some. 3 weeks ago, 92 deg. Today 85 deg. Golden Croaker makes it sound so much better than trash fishes.:D |
