Safety Glasses

I was weedeating today and felt something hit me in the forehead. Didnt think much of it, it felt like a small rock. After a minute or so i felt a little blood above my eye, but kept going and checked it out after i was done. Turned out to be a piece of glass that hit me and made a very tiny cut. Point is if it had hit me 2 inches lower and i didnt have on safety glasses, it would have been a very bad day for me. Always wear them when you are weedeating or even cutting grass. I couldnt imagine what life would be like without sight. Be safe guys!!!!

I always wear my PPE. I work in the oil field and have seen some very nasty injuries because of people not wearing PPE. Pisses me off when i tell people to put on safety glasses while we are on the rig floor and they make smart arse comments.

Have found out what safety glasses are all about more than once.
Was hitting a banana wedge separating 2 flanges, the head of wedge was mushroomed & when I hit it a couple pieces broke off, one stuck in the bridge of my nose & the other dead centered my glasses & stuck, the point actually went through the lens.

Several years ago I had the misfortune of loosing my left eye due to a centrifical clutch departing its housing... Had my face in the wrong place at the wrong time, glasses would not have been much help as these were rather large chunks of hot metal moving at high speed... That clutch was on me like white on rice, it hit me so fast that I didnt realize what had happened until I bent over to pick my hat up off the ground and felt what was left of my eye slide down my face...

Spent weeks @ Tulane with them installing implants and gluing my head back together... During my stay, I met several other guys and gals that had serious eye injuries or had completely lost an eye like I had...

The common thread between all those people I met (except for one trucker that had a strap take his eye out) was that their accidents were all caused by WEEDEATERS !!!

Be safe out there guys !!!
